- Historical Note:
- In 1881, Professor Budd requested to purchase horses and build a shelter for them, though only the horses were initially approved. Budd built the barn himself and was reimbursed by the Board in 1882. The barn was practically destroyed by a cyclone on April 8, 1882, and was moved to the gardener’s house in 1897 with the recommendation that the barn be repaired.
