North Hall

North Hall

Historical Note:
Built in 1880, North Hall was constructed to house the Agriculture, Veterinary Science, and Botanical departments. Completed for occupancy in 1881, the building was heavily damaged by a tornado in 1882 but was quickly repaired. A porch was added in 1886, and two years later, a water supply and coal stoves were installed. After Margaret Hall was built in 1894, North Hall became an attached wing of the new building, with spaces converted for kitchen use, domestic economy functions, and servants’ rooms.
