Historical Note:
Teamster's Cottage #2 was built in 1890, where Bessey Hall now stands. It was initially constructed as housing for Experiment Station employees, and was occupied by Capt. Speer and his family. In 1900, interior modifications were recommended, and in 1915, the house was relocated to a site across from the power plant, where it became one of a group of five cottages. Teamster's Cottage #2 was razed in 1970.
