- Historical Note:
- The Grounds Cottage was built in 1882, with a porch added in 1886 and a water line extended to the house in 1892. It was first occupied by gardener and custodian Jerry Sexton, followed by other grounds department employees in the years that followed. The cottage was moved in 1905 to make way for a new horticulture building and relocated again in 1924. It remained in this location until it was razed in 1970.
