- Historical Note:
- The East Boarding Cottage was built in 1882 to accommodate additional students, reflecting the success of the Boarding Cottage West. The boarding house filled quickly, providing low-cost housing for students. A porch was added in 1886, and renovations completed in the 1890s expanded and updated the interior. In 1897, the East Boarding Cottage was converted into teacher housing, and in 1901, it became the football team's living quarters. Steam heat was included in 1905.
